There are a total of 20 personal computers in the lab.
19 of these are Pentium 4 2.8 GHz machines. These are for general use for people involved in software based projects. All the machines have Windows 7 Enterprise installed.
There is one computer used only to programme micro controllers using PIC, Dataman and T51 Microprocessor Programmer.
Use your studynet User Nameand password.
Note: The machines have Virtual Machine capability and there is a Ubuntu Linux VM set up already.
The main software is now common throughout all the computer and specialist laboratories.
If you need software on your own PC then you can download common shareware and most Microsoft products from the Faculty Software Repositry.
If you need any other software to be installed please see the lab technician. Any software must be appropriate to your project and approved by your supervisor. If a piece of software is installed on a machine you can not be guaranteed access to it at all times.
Also, see the technician if you need any hardware to be installed in a machine. E.g. D/A A/D boards, data acquisition boards or self designed prototype boards.
Failure to comply with these procedures my result in disciplinary action.
Apart from the standard software, this link shows additional software added for student projects:
