Registered students should be conversant with and adhere to the safety regulations laid down by the University.
Everyone should take reasonable care for their own health and safety and also for that of people at the University who could be affected by their actions.
No one should interfere with or knowingly misuse any equipment which has been provided for safety purposes as it is a criminal offence, under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1975, to tamper with safety equipment.
In general terms this means machine guarding, goggles, other protective equipment, fire alarms, first aid boxes, etc. This cover also extends to halls of residences and all other University premises.
There are trained first aiders on both campuses, all of whom hold a current First Aid at Work Certificate from a recognised training organisation.
You can access a list of First Aiders and First Aid information from here
It is important to report these incidents so that appropriate action can be taken to ensure the likelihood of it re occurring is greatly reduced.
